Ballonswelt – E-commerce Shop

Ballonswelt is Waldbyte's own e-commerce project. We conceived and developed the online shop for balloons and party decorations with a focus on clear product presentation, checkout orientation, performance, and technical SEO. Stack: PrestaShop, frontend optimization, and performance. The project serves as a practical reference for our e-commerce work.

What WALDBYTE’s project examples actually demonstrate

The projects page deliberately distinguishes between an owned practical reference and technical demos. Ballonswelt is a PrestaShop shop for balloons and party decorations conceived and operated by Waldbyte. It demonstrates product presentation, category and checkout guidance, frontend performance, and technical SEO in a real commerce system. The TYPO3, PrestaShop, and Shopware demos, by contrast, are used to show backend and frontend behaviour, editorial workflows, and technical approaches; they are not presented as third-party client references.

Situations for which these examples are relevant

They are relevant when an existing shop needs structural development, a PrestaShop version change must be prepared, a TYPO3 editorial model needs assessment, or the actual editing experience should be reviewed before choosing a system. Typical findings include hard-to-maintain category and product structures, custom theme or module dependencies, unclear checkout paths, missing URL redirects, and role or approval requirements that a simple CMS setup cannot model cleanly.

What WALDBYTE delivers in a project review

For the initial classification, we need the URL, system and PHP version, affected processes, existing interfaces, desired target state, and—where relevant—the planned go-live date. A 30-minute initial meeting is usually enough to decide whether Ballonswelt or one of the system demos is professionally comparable. Reliable statements about code quality, data migration, or SEO risks require a separate technical review.

The outcome is not an invented success metric, but a concrete review path: for example, a module and theme inventory for a PrestaShop update, URL and data mapping for a migration, or a role, language, and extension matrix for TYPO3. We then clarify staging, access, test cases, and approval. This reduces the risk of confusing a demo with a complete production architecture, overlooking business-critical shop dependencies, or starting a relaunch without redirect and rollback plans.

How we assess project fit

Waldbyte takes on a project when the system and problem match our TYPO3, PrestaShop, Shopware, web-development, or performance expertise, the responsible stakeholders are available, and a controlled testing and approval structure is possible. If source code, data ownership, or a realistic maintenance window is missing, we identify those blockers before estimating the work.
