What problem does it solve?

Optional analytics and marketing scripts should not run before a visitor has made an informed choice. WB Cookie Consent provides a visible consent layer for PrestaShop and blocks recognised analytics and advertising tags until the relevant category is accepted.

Features

  • Equal accept-all, reject-all and customise choices.
  • Separate necessary, analytics, functional and marketing categories.
  • Reopen preferences through a floating privacy button.
  • Block Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising and similar scripts before consent.
  • Record consent version, categories, language, time, shop identifiers and a salted IP hash for proof.
  • Configurable colours and button placement.

Compatibility and privacy

Compatible with PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9. PHP compatibility follows your PrestaShop release. Multilingual storefront strings are included; test multistore contexts separately. The module itself does not send data to Google or another external service. It only allows a tag to run after the visitor accepts that category. The shop owner remains responsible for configuring tags and the privacy notice.

Included

Version 1.0.0, module ZIP, documentation and source translations. One shop licence is included unless the offer says otherwise. Updates and support follow the period stated on this page. Support covers configuration and reproducible defects, not legal advice or third-party tag configuration.

Installation and initial setup

  1. Back up shop files and database, then install the module through Module Manager.
  2. Configure text, colours, placement and the necessary, analytics, functional and marketing categories.
  3. Test analytics and marketing tags in a private browser before and after consent.
  4. Verify reject, customise, accept and reopening settings on desktop and mobile.

Troubleshooting

  • A tag loads before consent: inspect generated source and determine whether a third-party module injects it through an unrecognised path.
  • The banner returns after a decision: check cookie domain, HTTPS, shop domain and browser storage.
  • Consent state cannot be reproduced: clear cache/CDN and test in a private window without existing cookies.

For any error, preserve PrestaShop and PHP logs, document the exact steps and reproduce the behaviour without cache in staging.

Version and changelog

  • 1.0.0 – Initial release of the documented module version.
